The League of Women Voters Troy Area Michigan is a nonpartisan political organization encouraging informed and active participation in government. It influences public policy through education and advocacy. The Troy Area League sponsors meetings and events for the public specializing in Candidate forums for local races.

Elections this year took place November 4th for the city council (3 seats) and a bond issue for the library and infrastructure maintenance. Congratulations to our returning city council members Rebecca Chamberlain and David Hamilton and the new city council member Annalisa Bluhm. The Bond issue was rejected with 55% voting against. There was a presentation on the large number of ballot proposals that the public will be asked to sign before the 2026 election on October 9th. Because of the voters movement away from election day voting (now about 1/3 of voters) Troy has reduced the number of voting precincts from 37 to 27. For more information on the New Troy voting precincts visit the Troy city clerk's webpage by clicking on New Troy Precincts
