The mission of the League of Women Voters of Troy, Michigan, is to provide nonpartisan information that encourages civic participation. As a nonprofit, we seek to engage the Troy community in promoting positive solutions to public policy issues through education and advocacy. We are part of the National League of Women Voters, whose 100-year history has been dedicated to the democratic process.

There will be two elections in Troy in 2026. On Tuesday August 4th there will be a primary election for state and federal democrat and republican candidates for the fall election. On Tuesday November 3rd there will be an election for State and federal offices as well as election of Troy School Board members. There will be a candidates' forum for State House districts 56 and 57 (covering Troy) and Senate seat 9 on October 8th. A Candidates' forum will be held for the Troy School Board election in early October. There will be one ballot proposal on each of the elections. On the August 4th primary election there will be a ballot proposal to increase the millage by 1.5 mils for the Oakland intermediate School District to be distributed to all of the Oakland schools on a per-pupil basis. On the November 3 election there will be a ballot proposal to renew the Zoological Authority millage in support of the Detroit Zoo.
